Holy Hamburgers! LEGO Travel Back to 1966 With Batman

"Quick to the Batmobile!"

POW!

LEGO has hit us with a stellar set, LEGO 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile. This set pays homage to the 1966 Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. The show ran for three seasons from January 12th 1966 to March 14th 1968 and has been rated the 82nd greatest American TV series ever.

WHAT THE BUTLER SAW

LEGO 76328 is beautiful; LEGO has excelled at recreating this iconic vehicle. Its predecessor, LEGO 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile, consisted of only 345 pieces but still managed to replicate the 1966 Batmobile with panache.

However, the latest release is a big upgrade - it features:

  • Moulded windshields
  • An opening trunk that contains the Bat-computer
  • Vehicle information plate
  • 1966 Style LEGO Batman Minifigure
LEGO Batman Minifigures and the Joker

It does niggle a little that the Batman figure doesn't fit inside the vehicle and that he doesn't have Robin to accompany him; the previous version LEGO 76188 included a LEGO Batman and Joker Minifigure. Gripes aside, the new LEGO Batman Minifigure has a rubber cape this time, which looks more accurate than the previous fabric one. There is a mini build of a gargoyle for Batman to pose on whilst clutching his Batarangs.

We think, "Holy cow, Batman, we must buy this set!" What do you think of this new upgraded LEGO Classic Batmobile? Let us know your thoughts below.

Happy Building!
